Mission

The mission of the program at the Bachelor level of English Language and American Studies in general is to train qualified professionals who will be able to pursue their future profession as well as further pursue their academic interests. This is in full accordance with the mission of Dardania College.

The importance of the program stems from the new reality created in Kosovo, which resulted in English becoming the main language of communication; therefore English language proficiency and Anglo-American culture will provide graduates of this program with enhanced opportunities for integration into the job market, as well as a wider range of alternatives to further follow their trends. education that is in line with the NQF.

Objectives

Given the importance of the content of the study and the mission of Dardania College, the objectives of the BA program in the English Language and American Studies Program are as follows:

  • Familiarize students with their level and raise the level of language proficiency of students in C2 according to the CEFR Common European Framework of Reference.
  • Equipping them with knowledge and skills and a deep understanding of the language system and how it works.
  • Equipping students with knowledge and skills related to the literature and culture of the Anglo-American world as an integral element of language, communication, and cultural competencies.
  • Equipping students with additional knowledge and skills through a range of modules to prepare them to face challenges and be competitive in the job market.
  • Incorporate students’ lifelong learning philosophy to prepare them for the ever-changing landscape of the job market, as well as the need to continually improve their academic and professional skills.

Expected Results

Upon successful completion of studies graduates from this program will be able to:

  • Communicate fluently and accurately at an advanced level in writing, as well as in speaking with native and non-native English speakers;
  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of the language system and the ability to apply it in practice in different forms and different levels of public communication;
  • Translate texts of various types, both written and spoken, and mediate to facilitate communication between English-speaking and non-English-speaking people;
  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge related to English and American literature and culture, cultural similarities and differences, and mediate in ways that facilitate intercultural communication. ‘
